One of the wildest things about sci-fi/fantasy art and miniature games is how a lot of the early stuff looks like fucking shit.
Normally, you'd think that this was a technical limitation, like with early video games: you just can't do Crisis when all you have is 2kb of RAM and a room-size HDD that fits all of 2 megabytes. Similarly, maybe it was impossible to draw a well proportioned human back then. Maybe it's impossible to sculpt a good mini by hand.
