Ask me about Etrian Odyssey, Tunic, Fire Emblem, and/or Pokemon. I can and will nerd out about them.

In Star Trek lore, it is absolutely possible, and even EASY, to use plastic surgery to change your appearance so much you appear to be another species. There are multiple episodes where a character is kidnapped and surgically altered against their will, and they wake up appearing as a Romulan or a Cardassian or something.

This means it would, in fact, be EXTREMELY easy for someone to get surgery and turn themselves into their fursona. If Star Trek was not cowards, we'd be seeing a bunch of animal people walking around alongside everyone else. Not to mention all the other extreme cosmetic changes, like, y'know, goblinization cough cough.

However, this does not happen. This is because Star Trek writers are cowards. However, there has to be some kind of in lore reason, because logically, we know for a fact that people would do this. This leads me to the theory that furries are illegal in the Federation. At some point in the past, something EXTREMELY BAD happened, and now being a furry is EXTREMELY illegal. I like to imagine the Furry Wars were bloody, and there's a lot of bad blood. Also note when I say furry, I mean like, the humans. Yes, cat people exist. That doesn't count, cause they were already cat people (though I bet there's some Caitian out there who wants plastic surgery to be a Human.

So, my theory is that all the furries in the Federation are A) in jail. Or B) Exiled to some far off planet, sectioned off so no one can go there. You can just find a forgotten planet floating in the cosmos FILLED with furries. A nonstop furry con.

Lower Decks writers, fucking hire me. This is an episode idea or two waiting to happen.

They sat alone in the small cafe, watching people hurrying to work, watching them go about their daily lives. This was something they'd done more times than any human could conceive of, it was near enough a daily ritual, one they'd observed for nearly half their existing life.

It didn't require coffee, in fact they'd been doing it since before humans had even discovered coffee in its current form, and they had to admit, it was one of humanity's greatest inventions. What it did require though, was time to sit quietly and watch as the human world washes over them.

As humans were wont to be humans, that wasn't always possible. They'd lived through sieges and riots, which had their own unique charm. Humanity's love of war was something that still baffled them though. Their lives were so short, yet they persisted in making them shorter. But today, in this place, at this time, there was no war, no fighting, so they enjoyed it.

They were sipping their coffee as he entered, a rather beautiful man, a type they'd seen many times. They flashed him a smile. After getting his coffee, he asked if the seat across from them was taken, they replied that it wasn't.

The two sat talking for a couple of hours, talking about things they'd talked about so many times, but they never tired of. They watched with a contented smile as he laughed at a joke they'd been telling for over 2000 years, it was their favourite, and in that moment they knew he'd go on to tell it to many more people.

When the time came to part he passed them a note with nothing but numbers. A new ritual. But one they knew how to perform.

i made one fat little tsuchinoko. and then i made 2 more. and then i made more. and then more. and then i had somehow manifested 16 fat snakes in my own home.

i cannot take care of all of these little guys and so all of them are on sale at a discount! 4 have already been claimed but that means there are 12 remaining. i'm doing something funky with this shop drop, where you can either pick which snake color you want or just roll the dice like a blind box! all of them have unique designs and patterning so no one can end up with the same snake twice! You might even get a snake you don't see here! Get them in my ko-fi store here!

if you see a design that you want that isn't present or want a custom patterned tsuchinoko, i have also opened up a commission type for a custom tsuchinoko! (because i do just like making these fat little guys and would love the opportunity to make more) get one in some custom colors or get one TWICE AS LARGE!
