I do not love true crime, I am not listening to a true crime podcast
its popularity as a genre is seriously messing with people's brains, in a way that smarter people than me are talking about plenty

a beautiful thing about podcast ads is that I cannot remember the last time I heard one that didn't sound like the worst thing I could spend my time listening to

there's one that gets inflicted on me a lot that sounds like the most heterosexual thing on the planet. "Put the kids to bed and pop in your headphones, because this one? This one's for adults only."

true crime is so awful as a genre. it's all the worst parts of celebrity culture, but with the added benefit of them being about ordinary people who had horrible things happen to them
