this is the exact opposite of my liz, who grew up on a lake, comes from a place with a LOT of lakes, and whose parents both studied lakes
for what it's worth, i don't really like swimming in lakes either.
we get warnings here in Chicago every once in a while about the lake being rowdy and the waves being huge to the point where it’s not safe to go near the lake in certain places/at certain times.

you're so right that lakes are where they hide the mind spiders. the ocean has nothing on lakes in this regard
