went to the recycled craft store1 for scrap yarn to fix a few garments, walked out with four full skeins of gorgeous sock yarn for about $60 (usual retail about $115, so yes this is a steal)

I did also get the scrap yarn and a set of size 2 DPNs, point protectors, and a row counter for another $10

(for Seattle knitters: I saw at least 10 more skeins of madelinetosh fingering weight in various colors, often 2+ of a given color, so if you want that go take a look soon)

  1. Seattle Recreative in Greenwood. Highly recommended for browsing/inspiration/freeform projects, not so good if you need something extremely specific. They do everything from yarn to fabric to paint to paper craft and the nature of donations means there's always something weird to see. Go check it out!
