I realize people have posted this question before, and I can't find the post to reference.

On twitter I used to get a full menu of articles going by from a variety of sources that I could click on, which I'm obviously not getting anymore. What are your favorite publications, especially for international coverage1? I'm relatively better covered for local (Seattle) news.

  1. I can access the NYT through my library, which is certainly better than nothing, but I know there's more out there

in reply to @JhoiraArtificer's post:

I subscribed to a local newspaper, The Inquirer, and read it with my morning coffee for local and regional news. Also I read omni.se for swedish/international news. also the engineering disasters podcast I listen to, Well There's Your Problem, do a news recap at the start of each episode which is where I learn about like,,, natural, man-made and political disasters that've happened recently

obviously im less aware than I was when I was steeped in Online, but that's not really a bad thing?

Gothamist and Hellgate tend to be good but very local to NYC. More broadly, Unicorn Riot covers left movement issues and other underreported topics. 404 Media is new from some ex-Vice people and has done some pieces on tech stuff I’ve liked. None of this is terribly international (UR is somewhat) but thought I’d throw it out there
