my revised version on his oath Declare that he served in the Revolutionary War as following that (he) Listed under Capt. Alexander Bravard in Colonel Archibald Lytles Regiment [four words crossed out] it being the 4th North Carolina Regiment and his Original Certificate is dated the 21st day of December 1818 and numbered 4..994.

we are not supposed to correct typos in-line (brackets afterwards is fine) or do too much editorializing but I just cannot imagine assuming that a court document is gibberish on purpose
