today i have illustrations from two books centered on the same theme: MEMENTO MORI, which as we all know translates to "remember that you will be bothered by a skeleton". the books titles are: "De kapelle der dooden, of de algemeene dooden-spiegel. both were published in the 1700s, which is why their titles are Like That. i highly recommend perusing the full collections of illustrations of Bothersome Skeletons. they made me chuckle.
