The G-Men have a bunch of unused animations and among them are animations for sleeping and being woken up. They aren't referenced anywhere in the code.

The sleeping animation in particular is actually kinda cute. Especially that little hat wobble.

We don't have to look far to figure out where they were intended to be used because it becomes immediately obvious in this gameflow document:

A section from a document that reads: "Warehouse Interior [cutscene, mostly]". "If Raz uses the lev ball in the warehouse, the light wakes up sleeping G-Men and they immediately arrest him. (see: Road Construction G-Men Arrest Raz) If Raz escapes with the plunger, we need something here to remind him to head for the book depository."

In this early iteration of the level, the post office was instead a warehouse, and it would apparently be filled with sleeping G-Men. They'd wake up if you used the lev ball and arrest you.

The document makes no attempt to describe what's inside the warehouse other than this but I assume it probably consisted of platforming challenges, and the lev ball restriction was in place to prevent the section from being cheesed.

I still really need to do proper digs through these documents some time but I haven't figured out the best way to approach it yet. Level-by-level, perhaps. The documents we have generally only really cover 4 levels in detail. Some day, though.

There's more unused animations in the G-Men's animation set but those might need a bit more explanation, so I'll cover those when they're relevant in the documents.
