Wow that was fast huh

I guess I should do the thing of setting objectives for the new year but honestly it seems a bit pointless as all the times I've done so in the past it's rarely actually mattered. But maybe writing them down in a post like this will act as some extra layer of motivation. And it's fun to do anyway.

  • I'd like to release an actual game project. Not a weird thing where I just shit out something like Explore on a webpage with no fanfare. An actual thing with an Itch page or something.
  • On that note, I also want to get over the general weariness I feel when I think about how all my projects are basically devoid of traditional gameplay. I really need to just recognise that it really doesn't matter if my "game" is a goalless little interactive thing that I just needed to get out of my system.
  • Psychonauts. I want this year to be a big one for Psychonauts modding. I want this year to hold the release of a Psychonauts level editor and major updates to Astralathe. It's been far too long since I made any major progress on that.
  • Finally put new shit in my computer. This one is cheating because I've got a new GPU and RAM sitting right next to me and on my desk, respectively. I'm just too lazy to put them in. So this one at least is very easy. Excellent.
  • I wanna actually improve at a creative endeavour outside of game development. Probably something related to it like 3D modelling or something though. Even if it's just very basic stuff. I have always wanted to be able to draw but I really don't know if I'll ever figure that one out. Too hard with a mouse.

I think that might be about it. I can't think of much else to add, that's probably enough given how hard I find all (but one) of these things. We'll see what happens.
