they made a version of this game that's actually mostly good instead of "almost good but not quite there" like the original. still haven't decided if i'm gonna get used to the way proximity normals and autocombos work or if i'll just die mad about it instead but i'm leaning die mad. i like the rest of it though

(i guess proximity normals are whatever to me because kof was an early fg of mine and i've played more hyper fighting than is good for a person but yeah i guess they are not super common even now)

i play a lot of Guilty Gear so i'm not opposed to proximity normals in general but the specific way they work in GBVS where most of your normals are locked inside autocombo chains and if you get the far normal you can't cancel it into anything but specials is a particular flavor of frustrating, especially since the proximity range for the close normals feels so small compared to the range of Guilty Gear close slash

oh i mean i just feel like that's part of how you're expected to hit confirm in this one. idk

typically im pretty sure of both whether im about to swing with close normals and whether or not they'll hit or get blocked before i even start really
