the problem with thinking "maybe i should take a more organized approach to getting better at guitar instead of just trying to learn whatever random song i think might be fun to play and more often than not finding most of it beyond my meager skills" is that there are 10 billion people online trying to Sell You Guitar Learning Materials and i absolutely cannot be bothered to sift through them but at the same time i don't even know if soliciting recommendations would find me an approach i vibe with. i guess it couldn't hurt though, so:

anyone got any recommendations for some electric guitar learning materials that i might not hate? there are way too many variables to specify so i won't bother trying to cast a narrower net than that. just throw things at the wall and i'll see if they stick

well, at least twitter's corpse is still warm enough that i was able to confirm i didn't imagine there was just a small earthquake in the seattle area. enough to wobble my cat who was laying on my desk but not much worse than when the air pressure in the garage under my studio shifts and rattles the floor in here a bit lol

genuinely one of the best uses of that site was confirming stuff like this while any "official" sources might still be delayed (i checked several earthquake tracker sites and they didn't have anything yet before i checked twitter and found what i was looking for) and i guess that will at least partially shamble on for a while but who knows for how long

every time i see people mention FF16 i’m like “oh right, that came out and i played the whole thing and it just slid right off my brain. huh. weird.” what a sadly forgettable kind of nothing game from the team that made one of my favorite games of all time

the pressures, both internal and external, of making a numbered final fantasy in this era of approximately one of them coming out per decade must be completely out of control

[ignoring how much this would cost] i think they should go back to having a bunch of them in flight at once so the impact of one of them being disappointing is more “oh well, maybe the next one will be good” instead of “well, time to wait another 8 years and hope they remember what whimsy is”
