Making games sometimes

Sephonie: Evocative setting/tone with difficult to describe, but nonetheless satisfying platforming and puzzles. I love games that are unafraid of being multiple different things, and boy howdy Sephonie is about three and half games stitched together in one. Top notch soundtrack as well. https://han-tani.itch.io/sephonie

Queer Man Peering Into A Rock Pool.jpg: Developed by Fuzzy Ghost, QMPiaRP.JPG is a strange title and indeed a strange game, but tells a characterful and heartfelt story in its bubblegum pink, dreamlike world. Go in blind, soak it in, and I think you'll find something to love in it. https://fuzzyghost.itch.io/queer-man-peering-into-a-rock-pool-jpg

Floppy Knights: Floppy Knights is an extremely satisfying deckbuilding tactics game. Wonderful character designs, an upbeat and funky soundtrack, and cleverly designed missions. Barrel Cactus is my guy. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1057800/Floppy_Knights/

Knotwords: I've gone back to Knotwords after a little time away, and I think it's my favorite mobile game, full stop. It looks like a crossword, but does away with clues in favor of spatial and directional spelling conventions. Don't mistake it for fluff in the post-Wordle boom, it's seriously good. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/knotwords/id1598756238

Pentiment: Haven't actually given it enough time, but I am greatly enjoying it so far and I'm hoping the latter half of the game will hit as hard as what I've played so far. Murder, intrigue, politics, the gang's all here. Shout out to how much care has been put into the text display and animations, so much story is hidden in text styles and changes. Another shout out to the culinary illustrations, because I love looking at food in games. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1205520/Pentiment/

Citizen Sleeper: Some days, you feel like you just got a bad roll of the dice. Citizen Sleeper encapsulates this idea of the tumult and uncertainty around our fragile and unpredictable bodies. Well, throw in a little planned obsolescence and economic despair and you get the full picture. Wonderfully crafted in its design with a lush, riveting story. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1578650/Citizen_Sleeper/

Norco: There's nothing else like it. It tells one of the most affecting stories in games. It's the best setting of any game I can think of, and it's based on real-world Louisiana. The "shitty future" subversions that make up Norco are endlessly entertaining. There's nothing else like it, which is why you really owe it to yourself to give it shot. If I had to pick one best game this year, I'd be all in on Norco. https://rawfury.itch.io/norco

(Haven't played Immortality yet, gimme a minute alright.)

My beloved Chosters, it's finally here. 🥲

We worked on this game for 1½ years, and we finally can share it with you. There's some of our most mature and experimental designs in this game. It's a really special thing for us, we hope you'll like it ❤️💙
