I'm the stream boy. This is where I share funny Twitch clips sometimes.

This is a run that had no business taking me as long as it did. As soon as I unlocked this character, I wanted to spend some good time with him. The Hunter's main mechanic is that his bonus Range is converted to Damage. That's all well and good, but what makes him so much fun is that he gets to start out with a crossbow and gets a bonus to Crit Chance. The crossbows have high native Crit Chance and damage and also pierce on a critical hit. Combine that with the immensely satisfying cash register sound that a critical hit makes and you've got a recipe for a character I was dying to play.

Winning with Ranger turned out to be pretty difficult, though. The effect of piercing shots is that every critical hit gets to hit one extra enemy, meaning that the player effectively doubles their attack speed if their Crit Chance is high enough and they route enemies efficiently. I quickly found that even this didn't give me the coverage needed to clear denser waves. Most of my failed runs ended because enemies were closing in on me, and Ranger's debuff to HP gain makes him incredibly fragile. One or two mistakes and you're out. High attack speed is a must as a result, and if the player can't build up that attack speed quickly they're going to be in for a world of hurt. I also managed to build up a surprisingly large HP pool in this run despite the debuff, which definitely helped, as did my newly found love of HP Regeneration.

Cash money, babey. 🏹
