i really hate that liked 90% of modern indie games are made in unity because it does not matter how optimized a unity game is my laptop graphics card will get pissed as fuck and become 100 degrees

This was one of the reasons I ditched using unity. It just has so much overhead.
low poly games running at 30fps on switch isn't normal, but on Unity it is. Unity, not even once.
