there's like a billion sokoban games on steam with descriptions like "this cozy puzzle game is built to challenge you while never making you have a miserable time, come try our wholesome sokoban experience"
which just seems like bad marketing? because every single sokoban fan i've ever met wants to play something that absolutely destroys them. they want to play something that kicks their ass over and over in the puzzle department and then they somehow conquer it and feel like a god
When you brought up sokoban the other day I was confused as hell. So I went and looked it up and played the one in the browser.
Glad I now have a word for "Game that annoys the hell out of me after 15 minutes"
it just means block pushing game, but the genre is famous for being the sort of puzzle game that like... really twists yourmind by adding more complex and interesting rulesets for you to puzzle through as you go
