How do you even deal with Zombies? I haven't encountered any but I assume they would rise from the ground, meaning it wouldn't matter where you put your defenses they could just rise up into your fortress?
Not sure if you intended to make the picture blow up to the size of my feed but it took me a good 3 seconds to scroll past and I found that hilarious.
One of my first fortresses ever, YEARS ago, I had no clue what to do when they died. So I just did the natural thing you do when people die, you build coffins. Except I had no idea how to build them, let alone put the bodies in them. So instead I just dumped corpses of any variety into this hole I dug into the ground and locked up. I figured it would probably be bad to expose everyone to bodies. What I did NOT account for, however, was Miasma, which would creep from the literal pile of corpses like ten feet from the surface, and whenever one of the Dwarves would randomly walk in there (I didn't mark it as an unallowed zone, because again, I had no idea how to), it would spill out onto the surface, making anyone out there incredibly sick. Eventually it drove one of my singular dwarves insane, and he went on a killing rampage, which promptly ended my fortress's short lived story. In fact, that's how a lot of my fortresses would end, because I had no clue how to actually play the game. Got some really good stories out of it, though.
