compound words like "setup" and "login" are written1 without spaces when used as nouns (as in "my setup", "login button", etc), but with spaces when written as verbs ("set up your account", "log in at the top")


  1. in standard written English. yes I know that descriptivism is right and the only true measure of correctness is language as it is used, but if you're writing formally violating the standard will still look like a mistake
