had a real obnoxious morning but everything works fine now and nearly all of my old files are accessible but boy is it a pain in the ass starting from scratch and having to remember a bunch of shit to make it feel like "my computer, with the settings and software that i like" again
most frustrating part is i knew this was gonna happen eventually, bought a new hard drive months ago, but kept procrastinating on reinstalling windows. if i'd done it before my hand was forced i could've imported a lot more shit
stuff from my old hard drive is moving to my new one at a rate of roughly Two Megabytes Per Second
oh yeah in case anyone is wondering (bc this was genuinely one of my worries when the drive failed) all the kirpos, including the ones i haven't posted, are safe
