i honestly cant wait for brand new people to rush into armored core 6 just like they did elden ring and step on twenty years of rakes and cry many many articles about how its not fair the video game is bad (and it turns out they dont know how to boost or equip a better targeting computer or some shit)

the people who were afraid to jump in the tutorial hole for elden ring is the funniest fucking thing i can imagine in game design. "please mr computer take me on an epic quest but do not make me do anything adventurous"

why are you here if you dont wanna jump down holes and probably die horrendously? more worryingly: what are you afraid of losing?

right, but you are saying that with the experience of having played ac3. similarly, i would say dark souls 1 is harder than elden ring in most ways. this is about the people who dont know any of that and just bought the game based on 5/5 review scores and are confused when there are more elements to the game than "kill man receive cutscene"

I should dig up my post about elden ring discourse and have it ready for when ac6 releases. I'm sure most of the stuff I said there will still apply, just like it's been for every other Fromsoft game for like a decade

for me my own personal pain point is the knowledge that their reputation has only increased after time and just; if you werent sure you didnt want that its not like you dont have centuries of recordings of thousands of people playing these games, largely unedited and freely available, at this point. why abdicate the responsibility of finding out what something is if an unexpected video game is going to bother you that much?

its like watching a classic disney movie and being surprised when it is a fluffy, saccharine, animated musical. fromsoft has a vibe that so many people are willing to tell you about that it just feels like trying to get mad at this point! which is an awful thing to say to an individual, but is also kind of how hate-clickbait functions on a social level? and its less of an organized value judgement than just, any popular thing is always going to create a shadow of reaction among people who dont like it and therefore a youtube attention niche to exploit.

but we could also all agree to simply not. vOv
