Entry 2.

Seems that I spoke too soon at the end of my previous entry.

Things have immediately become more trying. Somehow, someone snuck an extra crate onto our ship before we left Ahmit, and it had a teleportation circle drawn in it. We were boarded by several demons and some feline man who was in search of the book that Ninty has been researching. We were able to defeat them, but... ugh, it's all my fault that it even happened. Ninty wouldn't have that cursed book if it weren't for me.

Kendan

This is unrelated to his near-death moment, but I couldn't find a better place to note this - there's definitely something odd going on with Kendan. He's been doing more magical things as of late; all very strange, but also very reminiscent of the way that Castor and Arcturus looked before I helped them become complete. I really should ask him about it sometime.

nearly died because of me.

Even worse, Baphomet intruded on me

again

This trend of Baphomet intruding on me in this plane is becoming more and more unsettling. That bastard just won't leave me alone; he keeps finding ways to sneak in. I want to tell him to piss off, but ever since that awful nightmare... my forearm aches just thinking about it. I really must find some kind of lead to be rid of him, and fast.

while we were doing a sweep of the ship for any other suspicious items. He told me of the power of the information in that book and how every demon would kill to get their hands on it. I can't help but feel like I've doomed my companions to fending off unending threats just for my sake. That is, if they don't just leave me for their own good. I really don't know what to do about it. I have to do something, but... what? I need to figure it out soon.

It doesn't help that we ended up picking up the intruder's sword, and just as luck would have it, she's sentient. Called herself Kyurifex. I can't stand her. She's obsessed with violence, betrayal, revenge... too similar to the awful things Baphomet keeps trying to plant in my head. It certainly doesn't help me feel less worried that everyone around me is going to either abandon or betray me in some way. Maybe she'll tone it down once she's been used some, but I'm really not looking forward to hearing more from her.

At least I've had Logan to talk to. Even though we haven't uncovered anything new, he helps keep my spirits up. I don't know how he does it, but I can't help but admire his constant enthusiasm and positive outlook. He keeps my brain occupied so I'm not wallowing in my own angst, and for that he has my gratitude.

The instant we return to Ostia, I need to have Garet write his name in my book. It will be so nice to be able to talk with him while we're away... I've never felt so strong an absence in my life as I have in these past few months. I miss him quite a lot... as unusual as it feels to admit to this kind of emotion.

We're still on course to the Ninth Warren. Recently we reached the end of the continent we've been sailing over - Alsania, as I've heard someone from Logan's group call it; can't recall who, though - and have been above the ocean for a day or so now. I feel that we're going to hit the continent that the Ninth Warren is on soon. At least, I hope we do. I think I remember Xena saying that one was called Werrai. I don't remember if either of these continent names were names they came up with, or got told of by locals. Either way, it's easier to use made up names than not having any names at all.

On that note, I think I'm going to start a glossary of places and people and things in the back of this journal, if just for my own reference.

Dear reader, I have made this glossary available to you now. Its contents will reflect the current knowledge Kayde has, and will update with every entry. Any time a new term appears or an old term is updated, I will highlight it, linking it to its corresponding entry.

I'll have to focus on that pretty heavily to get it done before we reach Werrai, so hopefully nothing big happens until we arrive there.
