So what other longform content places are people considering at this point? I see people using Dreamwidth and I gotta admit it's rough, but I also gotta admit Livejournal had one of the perfect feature sets ever. But then I see people saying 'pillowfort' to which I say 'pillowfort is alive????'

Then we got tumblr but I feel like tumblr constantly has one foot in the grave, awful policies and awful like... post life-cycles.

edit:

Oh also since I have both but don't use either currently...

I agree. I really enjoy longform discussion in comments, which is why I have a wordpress blog. I just need some sort of social media to satiate my dopamine dependency. I'll probably finally figure out RSS this year and finally catch up on all my old webcomics.

As the regulars will be quick to assure you, they've consistently met every monthly donation goal for a long time, and an influx of people who'd pitch in to help keep a virtual roof over their heads might help — I mean they've got the prominently-displayed donation bar that people here suggested over and over, there's no way that could fail!

Posting is Hella Jank, but hopefully, eventually, with enough dev time, they might put the toggle buttons underneath the editor on a z layer that doesn't interfere with the Insert Link dropdown when making short posts.

The people themselves have seemed nice(r than some would give them credit for being).

I'd like to be able to comfortably call it a home someday. For now, worst case, I'll link out to Dreamwidth or something if I can't be bothered to format posts natively, but still try to participate.
