the more i listen to the new gecs the more i just think "yeah i would love the third-wave ska revival stuff more if i were still a teen who only listened to ska" but also the production work is incredible all around.
but also the best song is the most abrasive & confrontational on the entire record. the song where one of the only readily audible lines outside of the obvious one is just a sample saying "fuck you" before switching to triplet flow with blown-out percussion samples gated to still make each attack distinctive. it's easy to see why this has substantially less spotify listens than everything else on the record (tho at time of writing this only ~18k less than "I Got My Tooth Removed", which is also certainly a song) but it whips
