to get the people who come in here and then act like cohost is "empty" because they don't immediately see streams of posts thrown at their faces, I'm pulling something from my own design specs:
give them a "random posts" button.
you press that, it feeds you 20 completely randomly selected posts from any user within the past week, as long as it was posted publicly, is repostable*, and wasn't an empty repost. no weighting by the likes or boosts we can't currently see anyway, no weighting by comments, nothing; just straight random.
also put an option at the top of that page to make it show you random posts from any time instead of just the last week. but that default of the past week is just to prevent seeing too many posts from literally over a year ago from the few accounts that haven't posted in months, when people using that button are probably looking for people they haven't seen before who are still active.
