Yeah I hate this too. My grandma used to say some wild shit when she was super manic. She often didn't take her meds or would mix it with alcohol and of course had a way less good support network than someone from a younger generation would have had. So I remember when she was really manic it would sometimes be very extreme and she would say stuff that wasn't at all "like her". Even then, it was still not bigoted, it was just more like "... well that's a hell of a take, grandma".

And when she was either depressed or euthymic (calm and doing well) she didn't say the super wild stuff but still had opinions and thoughts that broadly aligned with a toned down version of the wild stuff she had previously said. So yeah even if people like Kanye have bipolar, that doesn't make them a nazi. They did that by themselves.

(Aside: I've read stuff about Musk being bipolar but I think it's also possible that he just does a shitload of cocaine ...? As a bipolar person I don't know how to feel about periods of mania being similar in effect to doing a lot of cocaine. I don't know how accurate that really is but it's something I think about a fair bit 🤔)
