but i think it's like a pokemon that is also your soul?

Kindly remember: the ridiculous hype that offends so many is not of my making.
but i think it's like a pokemon that is also your soul?
yeah, that's badically it. they show up in Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, which imo is the best arc. (and by "best" I do mean "stupidest.")
What stands are, or can be, gets expanded and complicated with enough weird edge cases that it’s better to think of it as a schema for supernatural abilities that can interact, and any time a character talks about stands as a single kind of thing you know they’re either just wrong or full of shit.
But for at least 9 out of 10 cases yeah you’ve got it.
Basically, yes. They made a whole tabletop game about how the two are similar.
a stand is like a pokemon that is also your soul, except that you can't catch or trade them, unless you can, and you can't evolve them, unless you can. hope that clears things up
[has read/watched JoJo but never played Persona voice@] Yes.
Part 4 is extremely watchable without having seen earlier parts (though it may slightly dampen a cool reveal at the end of part 3, if you go on to watch that later)
Depending on the Persona game, yeah pretty much. It's definitely the same thing in Arena
A.P.R HxH is also a good touchpoint, that lil guy is pretty much a stand
