first infection in our family, after we were real proud of not getting sick like at all (other than food poisoning once) in the past three years
we kind of half slept for most of the night?
randomly wake up, grab a sip of water/powerade, adjust position and pillows because muscles are aching. adjust blankets because too hot/chills. Go back to sleep within five minutes, repeat somewhere between 30 and 120 minutes later.
we still feel gross and achey and still have a fever just barely under 102, but we're here. Though this is still Quite Early
our legs have hurt, all day. Like post-leg day workout tension, except for the fact we've been couchbound.
We slept through lunch, but haven't been able to sleep since. Not that we can hold down even soup anymore let alone solid food. Unsure if it's Bile or covid that is changing how this flat canada dry is hitting (before that too comes up).
with acetominophen every four hours we can keep the fever to 101, but it's still very much there. too tired to read, can't even focus to watch things, but too sweaty and aching to be able to even get more than "just lying here" rest.
And we knew it was going to be sooner rather than later, but our spouse finally tested positive too.
no it's not Bile, we flat out have The Bad Taste now, but not on all things yet. Warmed up Oat Milk is lovely; Fruit Snacks or Canada Dry not so much.
Also some (probably not all) of our vomiting is coming from our acid reflux gag reflex after dry coughing, so we might be able to mitigate that a tiny bit by regularily deepthroating some steam.
there was a minor hallucination while trying to get ready to sleep after our last post, fever related? idk.
most of the day was legs but now we're noticing neck/shoulders/biceps returning to their hypertense state as well. Day two will probably suck but if we can cheat and actually get fluids/food intake, we'll take it.
Hoping we can get to a place that has us feeling like our only option isn't doomscrolling on fucking reddit.
day two started off with soiling ourself which was a terrible experience. But otherwise symptoms have mostly managed, our fever dropping to unmitigated 99.4 and dropping (as of this writing, 98.4)
we originally moved to the couch for our resting, letting our wife have the bed, so that if either of us were napping and the other needed to be sick/was restless it didn't affect the other person getting the rest they need, but said spouse's mental health was deteriorating pretty badly and spiralling so that had to change.
Getting out of the room during the day, getting indirect sun, fresh air, company, and contact has been an immediate turnaround for them and I'm grateful.
It's day four today, and I tried to just tidy up a little bit and the fatigue hit us so hard before we even started, that I spent the next hour and a half on the floor with pillows and our plush.
