I don't think some people in my community know how exclusive they're being to their trans brothers and siblings when the only thing they spam in our lgbt Discord channel is some version of
"✨💖😍😊 girls ✨💖😍😊"
Like cool, I'm happy you're happy and I want you to celebrate who you are, but some campers have legitimately felt excluded or unwelcome because they feel that that channel doesn't do a good enough job of representing them or giving them a chance to speak about themselves without stepping on someone else's toes. And that's on me as a server owner to do better, but it's a tough line to balance when it can come across as trying to silence someone about their identity/sexuality.
idk I'm mostly rambling but it's just kind of awkward that a place meant to have genuine discussions as queer people has essentially turned into a place to spam about your yearning. Maybe it's an "online queer culture" thing, maybe it's just that I have an audience that skews young, but each day, it feels like the channel lost the plot.
I often wonder what it must be like to be trans masc and not exist in the public consciousness at all. And even in spaces that should be for em, not so much. It's gotta be exhausting.
Shout outs to my transmasc friends.
