I was gonna do more of an in-depth review of the shows I saw at the Buskers Festival, but it does kind of feel like nobody is really paying attention. So, one sentence for each, and also a score on how horny/self-deprecating they were, 'cause that seemed to be a common theme. (Yes, horny. Despite it being an all-ages show. 🤷)
- Mighty Mike Johns: Super dork. Actually pretty strong. Horny: 2. Self-dep: 9.
- Her Majesty's Secret Circus: Fun, silly show. Horny: 4. Self-dep: 6.
- Patrick Drake: Magic show. More of a calmer vibe than most. Horny: 0. Self-dep: 3.
- Surprise Effect: Pretty solid dance performance. Horny: 6 (a bit adjusted for being a dance performance). Self-dep: 0.
- Took a weird turn when there was a missing kid announced mid-show (not part of the act). The kid was fortunately found soon after, at least.
- Billy Kidd: Street magic and escape artist. Horny: 10 (I liked it, but maybe tone it down for the kids). Self-dep: 3.
- YoYo Guy John Higby: Pretty much what it sounds like. Fun performance, though. Horny: 0. Self-dep: 4.
Related but not stage performances: Jenny Jupiter and Silver Elvis. Saw them around as I was moving between stages. Nifty performances.
Also present: Famos Bramwells, Flow Berger, Jula Perron, Satya Bella, and B Boy Arsin. Did not get to see these, sadly.
