Trying out Garuda Linux. It's a gaming-centric Arch fork. FFXIV works (although it only starts like once every ten attempts, but no problems thereafter). Diablo IV works (although I haven't even started playing it since I've been more preoccupied with FFXIV). Left to figure out:
- Audio routing the way I have it set up in Windows
- Setting up the Stream Deck somehow
- Getting OBS set up
- Setting up SAMMI
- Getting Archipelago and related software all set up
- Ideally, a way to make FFXIV launch more consistently
- The majority of other software I use is already FOSS and cross-compatible
This program called Bottles seems to be a good way to containerise Windows applications for the most part, although I haven't succeeded in running anything in it yet:
- EmoTracker silently fails to launch and I don't really know why
- FFXIV Teamcraft won't install because of the lack of user accounts within Wine (it's technically running as admin, which it refuses to run as)
I kinda hope this is the one, though. I might have to jump back into Windows for streaming for a while, but I should hopefully be able to do damn near everything else in Linux right now.
