Discord’s new TOS clause will make you unable to sue the company for any reason OR join any other class action lawsuit

Here’s what to do:

  • email arbitration-opt-out@discord.com USING THE EMAIL ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR DISCORD ACCOUNT
  • tell them you want to opt out (template below)
  • SAVE A RECORD OF THE EMAIL!! DO NOT TRUST COMPANIES TO KEEP TRACK OF THAT FOR YOU

EMAIL TEMPLATE

Subject Line
Opt-out of Arbitration Clause

Body
To Discord,

I am writing to opt out of the arbitration clause in my agreement with Discord, dated [current date] for Discord’s messaging app services. If you have any questions, you may reach me at this email address or at [other email address].

My current Discord username is:

Thank you.

DO NOT LET COMPANIES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. FUCK DISCORD.

Yeah, naturally instead of actually addressing their fucked up implementation of all their policies and obligations (which they are fucking up because they don't employ enough people to do the job properly), they try to slap a dubiously enforceable arbitration clause on their TOS in the face of multiple already pending class action suits.
