You see only posts for people you follow, or things those people have shared, on your main feed. On one hand, that limits the potential to find something really good you want to be following, which is a mixed blessing. On the other hand, it limits the amount of crap you see as a result of clicking something and now The Algorithm©️®️™ thinks you're into it, which is solidly a good thing.
