Kewlio: I'll see you guys next time

The more I use Linux as a daily driver, the less I think about the fact that I'm using Linux. I take this as a good thing.

Also, I found a workaround for the OBS having no menu thing...just turn off the service that tries to snatch the menu and put it in the top panel. I can even turn it back on after I've started OBS, and everything is fine.

I am progressively feeling better about my choice of Linux, and in general using it. It's still got some ways to go, but it's decidedly getting there. Hoping I can get another stream test for this week's Super Shuffle. The current Long Run will continue to be a Windows thing, but either of the selections for the next one have native Linux ports.

After spending all that time figuring out audio routing, two things happened that forced me to boot to Windows to stream:

• The audio going to my earbuds was scratchy. I have no idea when or why it started happening, but it necessitated restarting PipeWire. That in itself would have been recoverable, but:
• My controller decided not to work. It worked last week. There's definitely a udev rule to handle it. I also tried to modprobe hid-nintendo, and that didn't fix it either. Maybe I could have figured it out if I had had more time, but the game had already been generated and Mazzy was streaming her end already, so it's off to Windows land.

I really want to be rid of Windows. It's just not working out that way. :/

Windows:

• half the software on your computer doesn't understand where it even is
• using a drive letter doesn't help at all
• chokes out the entire network

Linux:

• it's just another path in the file tree
• as long as you have perms, you can just access it
• doesn't kill the network unless you're actively trying to
