i just direct link imgur or discord images. it's not graceful or even good, but it works and it's ugly enough that it might make a dev mad enough to add a proper way, so bonus

you can do this! it's not intended and is very stupid but it does work! if you go to make a new post and upload your images and hit the dropdown and do "save draft" instead of "post now" then the images get uploaded, and then you copy the url and paste it on its own line and the media embed preview whatever makes it an inline image.

here's an example, using markdown image embed because comments don't do the auto-embed of a media url on its own line
