Picked up the the ProArc EM03 which was one of the suggestions for a bluetooth trackball, and, it defnitely works. It's much worse than the ploopy in terms of like the sensor/actual mousing experience1, but it doesn't need to be plugged into the USB port on devices like the Steam Deck or iPad which have only one usb port, which is what I got it for.
Keyboard is my caseless/plateless Kyria with SA8010 which has been my daily driver for a while now.

To be fair, it does have a much scroll wheel than the Ploopy (but no drag scroll/ball scroll, alas). It's also a lot quieter. Surface texture is a wash. The ergonomics are very similar, mods aside.
