why do the most compelling superheroes, spider people, have to be so fundamentally tied to spiders

like god I love spiderverse but I have to look away when that big creepy spider always shows up. like I get it, they're spider superheroes, but like... aaaa I hate just random realistic (or even vaguely realistic) spiders showing up
