I consider the universe to be indifferent, not uncaring. As for love? Calling it just a chemical is almost certainly a reductive take imo
i see it differently. the universe is not indifferent, because i am not indifferent, and i am an organism-environment with the universe. i am, at minimum, the part of the universe that differentiates.
Talos Principle 2 builds a lot of its narrative around this idea, and it's a very pleasant surprise to see in a game in the current year.
