the following codes are for my debut single, "wearing our wounds like stars". it's a post-breakup piece when i was in a particularly rough spot. a bit maudlin and amateurish in some ways, but... hopeful. which i know is a thing some of us need this time of year

as i listened through the surviving files i realized that, despite being intended for entirely separate albums and a lot of them only being an incomplete form, they all fit nicely in a melancholy-yet-hopeful sort of way. i came to see them as a 'found family' brought together by some great tragedy, working to gather the pieces from what was lost before. i performed minimal editing and processing, leaving the files mostly as they were but polishing them up as i sequenced them to tell their story. ambient cushions, guitar-driven noodlings, dissolved orchestral swellings, electroacoustic experimentation, dreampop inspired washes... live compositions & performances interspersed with programmed outputs and layers of indeterminacy
