So this bike race has been goin on for 40 years, and it heads through Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State. During the last two years, however, there was construction on the normal route that prevented the race from going through that area, instead shunting it to a less scenic and higher car-traffic'd area.
Now the construction is over, and the race can resume right? Nope. The new park Superintendent has decided that, even though the construction is done, the bike race still will not have access to that route anyways, citing "Traffic Congestion" (on a rural mountain road in an national park). No Route, No Race, More Cars.
But how can you, a person who might not even live near Washington and have no plans on visiting the state in any capacity this year help?
Well luckily this is one of those things you don't even have to get off your chair for. You see that route has limited space for cars, and it's metered by a parking pass system. So all you have to do is head to this website and purchase a 2 dollar parking pass for the date of July 25th, and then not show up. Never before has sticking it to the man been so simple.
You can purchase the parking passes here:

They're aiming for the entire day to be booked up, but if you want to specifically target the 9-11 and 11-1 slots that would be most excellent.
