As a heads-up, [YOUR_FAVORITE_ONLINE_COMMUNITY] is currently scheduled to go offline indefinitely by end of this year.

We haven't found a suitable buyer to hand it over to that would be able to expand and build the site into something that it deserves.

An alternative is for someone to start a new site somewhere, that will be able to tailor to the same niche community.

It has been a great past 20 years, and I appreciate that a lot of wonderful people still go here regularly to learn, get information and to have fun together, but there will be other options, I am sure.

It seems like a lot of communities are getting more and more paranoid. So they choose to hide themselves to protect them from some threat, real or imagined.

this one isn't even going into hiding, it's just going away. the forums are being closed and shut down and from the looks of it, the site's wiki too

i mean the one that this post is based off of (that had the name removed). it sucks
