game idea i just had that i kinda wanna make: "cursed game" but you're playing the person playing said cursed game and also have segments where you're not playing the game

Transitioning from a very classical console action/fantasy format (say, in the Wonder Boy tradition) to hard-boiled Déjà Vu sleuthing would provide some fun whiplash, especially if the player gets messed with by things like inventory items bleeding between layers of the game.
Admittedly an inspiration to the idea but I like the idea of it being more investigation than horror
