oh yeah, it's Wolfenoot today! Instead of Thanksgiving, Emi and I celebrate Wolfenoot, which is something someone's kid made up on the internet and we kinda took to because we love it.
The idea is that it's a holiday celebrating the wolf spirit, and being kind to dogs. You eat lots of meat (because wolves love meat) and a cake decorated like the full moon (though with our diet, we're improvising). You spoil your dogs a little extra if you have one, and sometimes you can even give or get presents!
So today Ester's gonna get a LOT of treats, we're gonna make some turkey we had in the freezer, and have some panna cotta for dessert. It's gonna be a good Wolfenoot!
It is my very proud duty to inform all and sundry that Wolfenoot is originally the creation of a seven year old Kiwi kid and helped to spread by his mum, rather further than I suspect she'd ever imagined. It's also another of the handful of cool things to come out of Hamilton, New Zealand - we haven't got many of those!
Go do something nice for dogs or wolves (or other animals in your life, Wolfenoot is purposefully pretty vague on who gets the treats)!
