I genuinely wonder what they're preloading. because surely they're still working on the game, and anything you preload onto a user's system will be subject to reverse engineering. so is it like... just very uninteresting files? a 1911 3D model, the animations for an ar style rifle?
Preloads send you an encrypted blob and they don’t publish the decryption key until the game comes out. So you’re downloading 220GB of random noise.
this just makes me wonder what the preload actually is. like find the key somehow (once it's sent to you), stop it from downloading the rest of the game, and see what's in the preload.
probably just 3D models and textures, because those are the most space consuming aspects of a game, no?
