proud to announce that we're back on our bullshit! we previously were at https://twitter.com/sbkeebs, but we don't feel like posting there anymore. it's been nearly a year since we originally posted the interest check for this keyboard, and got a nice number of responses.

we're currently reworking the Morningstar PCB with a few improvements:

outer columns will support both 1.5u and 1u keys (ergodox keysets are expensive)
bottom row keys will be nudged toward the center a little bit (for comfort)
integrating the MCU and USB-C port (it will be less of a "kit" keyboard)

keyset is DSA Astrolokeys

thank you!! when i had designed it, i had put a silkscreened star in the gap between the key clusters just to be cute. then thought, what if it was a cutout. then, what if it had LEDs. and then, since i had a laser cutter to use at the time, what if a little frosted window to it.

i need to post a gif of it in action, because the rainbow swirl effect is really good.

this is so cute!! i love the cutout on the pcb and if my hands could ever learn to properly 40% i'd be all over this. as it stands my brain is filling with ideas.
