WHELP my hand-me-down RTX 2060 has properly shit the bed to the point where any sort of load at all causes an immediate and unrecoverable crash to a black screen, so now I've gotta spend Actual Dollars to buy a modern GPU. I don't even know what a good GPU for non-gamer brained people is these days... do AMD cards still run hot as hell? Is anything sub-$300 worth considering? What even is a CUDA core? How can a loving god cause such agony?

Besides... where the hell do you go to buy computer parts anymore apart from Amazon or Newegg, these days? I know Micro Center is a thing, but the closest one of those is all the way out in Houston. Shit has got me legitimately missing Frys, weird as it is to "miss" a retail store.
