Created Remembrance, Permanence, & THERA
The Kyou System continued hammering and stirring, sleepless, indefatigable, at work upon the machines they were making.

I'd never given hater comments much thought before, but now that I've gotten some on my music videos, I can't help but find them kind of interesting. I'm asking for nothing, expecting nothing, merely sharing my music online for free; so what is it, then, that makes these people hate the way they do?

Clearly, they're in the minority: The hater comments constitute no more than 1-2% of the total comments I've gotten, the rest of which are predominantly positive (along with several neutral ones). For that matter, I KNOW that my music isn't nearly so terrible as they'd have me believe—it's a plain fact that I'm better at composing and music production than I've ever been; and my ear is good enough at this point that I can say my work is, at the very least, consistently decent.

In some cases, after I reply to them politely, they'll reply back apologizing for being rude, which suggests they might simply be commenting without thinking, or perhaps were in a bad mood when they left the comment. For the other cases, though, I find myself wondering: Why?

It's to be expected that our music won't appeal to everyone, of course, considering how wildly varied people's musical tastes are, but in those cases, I'd assume the person would just click away to go listen to something else. To leave a comment, especially a rude or hateful one, suggests something about it upset them enough to where they felt the need to say something about it.

Part of me wants to assume the worst: That they're just envious of our skill and/or our newfound recognition, and are venting their bitterness to try and feel better about themselves or to bring us down a peg—or perhaps, that they think the only good music is music they personally approve of, and want to let everyone who's leaving positive comments know that they're wrong and that Kyou System music is, in fact, overrated garbage—but that feels reductive and uncharitable.

In any case, I'll keep interacting with these haters as they trickle in; perhaps I'll learn a thing or two more about them as time goes on, heheh.
