they visited germany a lot so i actually got a fair number of them as a kid and good news i never choked to death. they do now sell ones in the US where the toy is in a separate half egg from the chocolate, but it's just not the same imo

ok only kinda, they made a workaround version that got legalized in 2017 but it's still not quite the same
