I know that nobody else is really watching SC2 esports, but Oliveira (fka Time) is gaming out of his goddamned mind. He barely made it past group stages to get into the 2023 IEM Katowice World Championships, entered the tournament at 21st seed (of 32), and was given 0.32% odds of winning. And then he just kept on goddamn winning.
Like, look at this game 3 in his series with Her0. Perfect read on the early aggression, had his defense down to a science. Pushes out as soon as he creates an oppening (by taking out the Warp Prism), spots that his opponent has a better economy & has invested in upgrades, and instantly makes the call to go all in by pulling his workers to body-block for his fighting units, winning the fight by the skin of his teeth.
This is the perfect underdog story. His opponents in both the semis- and the finals used him as a practice partner because they didn't think he was good enough to profit from learning their strategies. He wanted to give up earlier in the year, having spent a decade languishing in the "Top 20-30" rankings, but his dad wouldn't let him give up on his dreams.
