Last year Krita had a few changes. Most notably the Text Object getting new features though the tool for editing this hasn't changed and requires SVG code. Thousands of bug reports were resolved but the team is still inundated with these and more feature requests. The financial situation is uncertain going forward even with Intel becoming Krita's first corporate sponsor.
