sometimes you get caught in a wiki spiral because you wanted to fact-check yourself on an offhand reference in a youtube comment and you come across a sentence that's Awesome
actually hold up that one sentence just caught my eye while i was skimming and thought they were only talking about a downloadable virtual tour, but "the louvre rents out Nintendo 3DSes to give you guided tours while you're physically walking through the building" actually rules as a concept way more than i was prepared for. the idea of walking through a place as utterly dripping with history and cultural significance and prestige and pretense and institutional power as the Louvre, and the whole time carrying with you a plastic children's toy popping up notes in a virtual version of the room you're in on a 320x240 3D screen, is a phenomenal image to ruminate on. no notes
